So after months and months of resisting the Ipod craze, I broke last night and bought myself a 60 gigger. I had come into some cash from a car accident and decided to save most, but buy myself something cool.

Anyways, I get the thing home and am fully prepared to get my music on there when I get a pop up saying that I need a high speed USB connection, which I'm assuming means I need a usb2 port. Is that correct?

Now, in order to get my Ipod working with my POS computer, what options do I have?

You need a USB2 PCI card. Get one with the NEC chipset (look for an NEC chip on the board). Other chipsets, like the ALi one are cheaper, but tends to have compatability problems.

I think the Adaptec and Belkin brand cards both use the NEC chipset.

If he got a new one, odds are it doesn't have the FireWire cable anymore, so it'd be pointless.
