Ipod mini problem

When I leave my Ipod off for over a day (even if the unit is fully charged) when I then turn it back on, I find the unit has reset itself. The Apple logo appears and all the settings are back to default (i.e. the clicker noise is back on even though I always set it to off)

Anyone else had this issue and is there a way to fix it? I'm running the 1.3 firmware right now.

nope I know what you mean with the logo thing though. mine retains its settings though. (1.1 I believe)

I believe if you leave your iPod idle for a few days, it'll shut itself off completely. When you then press a button, you'll see it go through its normal bootup sequence (Apple logo.)

When this happened with my older iPods, I too would lose my settings. With my newer one, my settings are maintained.

Be nice if they had a firmware upgrade which wouldn't lose my settings in this case. Kinda dumb. I never noticed this problem cause I was using my Ipod every day for a long time. Just recently I haven't taken it with me each day and this problem has creeped up.

That is odd, when I bought mine it came with 1.2.. First thing I did was go online and download the latest update. I updated my ipod mini to 1.3. Have you tried that?

Ya I've upgraded to 1.3....sucks man.

My 20GB iPod (4G) does this too, but only the clicker resets. Every iPod I've owned (a 3G and two 4Gs) has done this.
