I'm not in the market for it yet, but I'm curious about the voice recording capabilities of the iPod.

I know Belkin makes a voice recorder, but I think I would occasionally need more than a condenser-style microphone, so I'd need a jack of some sort. Is there any way to plug a real microphone into the iPod? (i.e: a peripheral that allows it or something?)

You already have an ipod.. or no...?

If no.. Get Iriver IHP120. It has voice recording built in and also comes with a mic that plugs in.

Actually if you don't have an IPOD already get the Rio Carbon. It has a built in mic, it is smaller than the IPOD mini, and holds 5 GB of music. It also has over twice the batterylife of the IPOD mini, and takes only minutes to fully charge it self.
