Coronavirus: Ireland put in lockdown as Varadkar asks nation to 'forego freedoms'

Leo Varadkar says freedom in his country was "hard won" but called on citizens to abide by the new restrictions to save lives.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said residents should stay home until at least 12 April unless they were buying groceries, getting brief exercise or making essential family visits.
