Is Doom 3 for Xbox worth getting for coop alone?

I would first like to say that I have it on PC, and while I didn't think it lived up to the hype it was fun for awhile. Since Halo 2, I have been looking for another good coop game, and wonder how good Doom 3 is.

I didn't rate it.

Halo 2 blew it out of the water.

can't you do coop on the PC?

No.

I haven't played the Xbox version, but it seems like a hell of a lot was cut to make the online co-op version. If you don't mind dropping 50 bucks for about 5 hours gametime then you'll enjoy the online co-op.

I played through it halfway with drinky. I think the only thing that made it fun were the bad space marine jokes and the chainsaw.

To be fair tho, the games use of lighting is neat. However the whole 'monster in front of you so one will spawn behind' thing got old fast.

I actually finished the XBOX version yesterday (single player). Suprisingly, I enjoyed it on XBOX quite a bit more than PC. There was a decent amount of content cut from the game, but the result was a tighter package. I enjoyed it on the PC, but there were certainly times when things felt tedious. That really wasn't the case on XBOX.

No Doom3 is NOT worth getting for co-op alone. Its pretty fun co-op, but they cut out a LOT of the game. No puzzles, key cards, PDAs, access codes, storage lockers, etc. Maybe you didn't like those parts of the game and think it souns better with them gone. But whether you liked those parts or not, they added a LOT of length to the game. Without them in there, you will be finsihed co-op from the first level to the last boss in about 3.5 hours (thats how long it took a friend and I to play it).

It was fun, yeah for sure. But if your sole interest in purchasing the Xbox version is for the co-op play, rent it instead.
