Because I have a crappy Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller and after some Half Life lovin' I wanna play some Half Life 2 =( I've been told it's not possible, I'm knew to laptops so excuse my dumbness but is it possible? And also upgrading RAM?

If you had a Dell maybe, I know my friend went from a 5200Go to a FX5650 after he sent it in for HDD repair. But you have a Intel chipset, and well those are impossible to upgrade without replacing the entire motherboard.

RAM yes, graphics card :lol most likely no. Thats the risk u take when purchasing laptops.

Most of today's premiere gaming laptops have upgradeable graphics cards. I know Alienware and Sager do, Dell probably also.

I have a Dell Latitude D600 with a Radeon 9000 Mobility Pro...you guys know if that's upgradeable?

My work computer's a D600. Unfortunately the video adapter is an on-board solution, so no real upgrade potential there.

Inspiron 9300 here.. I'd love to know this as well.

EDIT:... also slightly OT.... but what do you guys think about the Pentium D?

From personal use of Pentium D systems at work, I don't like them. Mainly because the heat issues. My brothers Pentium D idles at 53C with TONS of ventilation on load it went to about 66C which is getting a to the danger area. My co-workers X2 4800+ Idles at a cool 43C and loads to about 57C. I'm a bit scared to do rendering at work sometimes cause I'm responsible for my machine. If you have a bit more money, and are looking for gaming setup choose an X2. My brother got that same Dell deal but upgraded to a 19" and he got an Audigy 2 Platinum card.
