Is Nintendogs Selling? ... Anecdotal Evidence Ahoy!

How is it selling in your neck of the woods? EB and Gamestop employees especially welcome to share how it's selling at their store.

So I went to my local, redneck EB today to grab my preorder. I walked in and asked if they had Nintendogs in and the lady said she only had 1 copy of Labs left. I told her I had a preorder and she fished through about 10 copies and grabbed mine.

My friend on the other, busier side of town called around this morning to see if anybody had a copy left so he could grab an extra for his sister, but every place was sold out.
 
I got mine today at EB. You wern't able to get it if not pre-ordered. They had a modest amount there. They seemed to have more Lab versions.

I was with my friend who didn't preorder it, so we went to Toys R US to find a copy. There were at least 40 copies there, each. It was crazy.

Saw plenty of copies at Best Buy this afternoon. I, obviously, did the correct thing, mocked the poor fools that got the game, and proceeded to pick up AW: DS.
 
No copies available at my gamestop, preorders only! It was the same situation too for Wars, luckily I did preorder that.
 
Several copies left in my city. Nobody I know owns a copy or a DS for that matter. All the girls I know are skanks that are more interested in fucking than gaming.
 
Yeah, those fuck loving skanks are the worst. :lol

The EBGames that I picked up Nintendogs and AW: DS told me that Nintendo screwed up the distribution of both games, so they hardly got any of them in at all. They had just a couple copies of Nintendogs, and three copies of AW: DS.
 
I picked mine up and there was a giant stack on the floor of preorders.

Also, 2 people walked out with Advance Wars while I was in there.
 
My brother preordered the Dachsund version, but when I brought him to go pick it up the lady said something about Nintendo making a mistake with shipments and how they didn't get enough Dachsunds or Labs and ran out of them. So he got the Chihuaha version with a puss on his face, and I made fun of him all the way home.

But yeah, since two versions of the game was sold out, I'm assuming the game is selling pretty well where I live.

Oh ho?! I'm wondering if more and more game publishers are pulling this type of stuff on purpose. It seems like every other game I hear about launching EB/Gamestop barely had enough for preorders/sold out but toys r us has a bazillion copies. Hype?

One of my friends just called me and said she can't really find it anywhere in the Portland, ME area. And all the EB stores in my disctrict (Maine, New Hampshire) were told last week that we weren't guaranteed any beyond the preorders.
 
I agree that it's possible it's just marketing.

Last week the guy in EB told me that Nintendogs would be "very limited".
 
Around here in xbox land when i was in gamestop for a couple hours this afternoon i saw several parents come in and buy multiple copies of the game.

Its surprising, my guess is that this will be the furby of 2005
 
if it is any indication, Play-Asia's copies of the game went from a 24h availability to "ships within a week" in less than 12 hours.
 
Went and got my copy today, and they had 3 copies of the game left altogether. I got the last copy of Lab & Friends, leaving them with two copies of Chihuaha. Very surprising.
 
My resistance for the Dach version is now zero.

went to EB to pick up my preorder and the guy said that they didnt have enough to fulfill their preorders. The guy said about 100 (!!!) people who preordered will not get theirs today. I got the Chihuahua and it came with a free lunchbag and doggie paw screen wiper

those store locator checkers are useless for the first week of a game's release. they won't register into the system until a few days after release
 
I dropped by Gamestop today when I went grocery shopping (it's next door to Super Target) and they said they sold out around 2:00pm. Super Target had a lot of copies, but I saw 3 customers buy the game as I was screwing around in the electronics section.

One lady took two of each version...apparently her kids can't share or wait to unlock all the puppies... :|

This is demented. I can't believe how many people are buying a DS as nothing more than an expensive action figure...

My EB only had enough for those who pre-ordered when I came in and asked if they have it. I got a nice Nintendo Lunchbag(with dog paw screen cleaner) with it too, really great because I didn't know the game came with a bonus.

My sister and my brother's girlfriend are actually fighting over about playing with the dogs..... this is after fighting over which dogs do they buy first.......
 
Sold the fuck out in San Francisco. No EBs in the entire city have it anymore, and the phones are apparently ringing off the hook with people looking for the game.

Probably a lot, and that's sad. Not for Nintendo, but for common sense, since it says right on the back of every game that all breeds are available in all three of the games.
 
Holy shit, it's so fun. Haha.

I went to EB with my girlfriend to get my two copies of it (one for my brother) and one version was sold out. The other two only had a couple left.

My mom was playing it, my freaking dad, who is the typical "manly" guy who does roofing for a living was like giddy when playing it.

Nintendo has a HUGE hit on their hands. It attracts everyone.

Got the last copy of Dachshund at Fry's this morning. They had TONS of Chihuahua left but only a few of Lab. The Gamestop near me also sold out of Dachshund first.
 
How is this affecting DS sales? The game looks really cute, I'll definitely pick it up when I buy a DS when MK DS comes out :)
 
Doesn't sound like it's selling phenomenally, necessarily (though it may be). Sounds more like the stores just aren't getting as many as they expected, either through distribution fuck ups or whatever.
 
My Advance Wars DS, Nintendogs: Dach (US) and Ouendan shipped yesterday with UPS from Play-Asia. Should have them just in time for some AWDS action in London.
