I noticed in the Nov. OXM demo that there's a lack of... erm... "bounce".

I haven't seen any info about this being censored. Does anyone know if this is just in the demo, or if this is going to be yet another censored SNK/Playmore game?

SVC is censored with the English language toggle on, but you can switch to Japanese language and get uncut animations. Sadly, that means you lose the wacky Engrish fight intros.

Probably not, because there's no "no bounce" models for the characters. Any time an SNK fighter is censored, it's only Mai that loses the bounce...none of the other female characters do. Whenever a new Mai sprite is finally drawn, that's probably going to be the end of it, too.

Just to note, I have played the Japanese Xbox version of SvC Chaos, and Mai doesn't lose teh bouncy no matter what language setting you use. (The PS2 version doesn't have a language option)

This is common in the American versions. I believe that Mai hasn't had her bounce since '00 or so, or at least it has been intermittent.

Another thing that has been censored in past KOF games is Whip's Desert Eagle move. Before I played a japanese version, I though she was throwing snaps at the ground or something; turns out she had a giant handgun.

I think that's extremely funny as Mai was VERY bouncy in both Capcom vs SNK games. Then again, SNK thinks the US is still very very hard to get anything remotely sexually themed into. They've been doing this censorship for well over a decade, completely disregarding trends against it recently.

I always wondered if Mai's lack of bounce in the US bios was some kind of Japanese bigotry thing--"Those filthy gaijin can't look at OUR women that way!" and all that, considering all other SNK women bounce
