Let me start this out with the usual DUMB QUESTION, but...

OK... we all read my VHS copy of Star Wars topic. Well I burned maybe 10 minutes to DVD to test the quality.

Anyways... the movie is approx. 2 hours from THX start to the ending credit finish rolling.

DVD's can hold 120 minutes or 2 hours... why does my Pinnacle Studio Plus 9x tell me to cut 27 minutes?

Is there some type of compression program that will fit a movie under/over 2 hours on a DVD?

Use nero. You should be able to set the quality. If you are burning a DVD from a PC, then time is irrelvant, its all down to the bitrate you use and therefore the final size of the movie. You'll have to reencode to fit, so use the original capture if you still have it.

TMPGenc Pro...its got a wizard that will automatically set all the bitrates to as high as to exactly fill a DVD-R. It'll do the compression, encoding, and conversion.
