Is there any way to put the MSDN library on my PC?

I've got Visual Studio .NET 2003, and whenever I try to look something up while programming, it always asks me to insert one of my MSDN discs. This ends up being a huge friggin hassle, and it would be much easier if I could avoid this somehow.

We've got .NET 2002 at school, and the MSDN Library seems to be on the PCs themselves, as I neve get asked to inset any discs when I'm looking something up with it.

How can I go about doing this? I've got VS .NET 2003 Pro and all my official Microsoft discs. This isn't pirated software, and I'd just like to make this easier on myself.

Make an ISO of the disc and use alcohol to mount it when ever you need it.

Doing something like that would still force me to have to go through a process in order to get the help I want.

What I like most about the 2002 at school is that the data seems to be on the HD so I don't have to enter a disc (real or emulated) in order to get the information I need quickly.

I could have sworn the MSDN library I had with VS6.0 had an option for a complete install that didn't require the disc.

Yea, I'm nearly 100% positive I've done the complete install but it's still prompting me for the discs.

I'll check one last time to be sure.

I have the standard version or something that came with one of my textbooks. It had around five discs, and two or three of them were MSDN discs. I think the very first disc was an installation program. If yours is set up the same way, you should just be able to insert that first disc and choose the step that installs the MSDN files. Maybe. I don't have the stuff with me to check.

Edit: Never mind, too slow.

The MSDN discs are 3 CDs (or 1 DVD) and are installed separately after you install VS.NET 2003 or 2002.

If you have the MSDN subscription, they are on the light blue discs where Studio is on the yellow discs and Office is on the dark blue discs.

I've got three MSDN CDs.

My package came with two VS CDs, 3 MSDN CDs, a prerequisites CD, and a Windows 2000 SP4 CD.

Nonne of the CDs are colored though, they've all just got black ink on clear background.

OK, I got it. I've been doing Custom Install so I could install somewhere other than C:\Program Files, and I didn't notice it was installing everything to be run from CD.

If it's asking for discs, you didn't do a full install, period. Run the installer and tell it to upgrade to the full install.

The MSDN lib has always had a full install option that doesn't require discs. It pretty much has to, since the license for the lib allows installation on multiple machines (at least as part of an MSDN subscription. Not sure about the version that comes with VC).
