You know how when you play a DVD from another region you have to change it, well I only have 2 times left, and I'm curious if there is anyway to either make it where my DVD drive accepts DVD from all regions, or a way to be able to change the region an infinite number of times. BTW, the app I'm using to play my Jp DVDs is PowerDVD.

Just search google for the DVD you have and firmware patch. It's very easy to find the firmware to kill the count or just chaneg you drive to Region X

Yep, that's the way to do it. But be careful, if you screw up flashing the firmware, you could render the drive useless.

thats the main reason i bought a Liteon HDD166S dvdrom... popular and had RPC1 firmware

I swear it was part firmware and part software as well though.

My Inspiron 8600s NEC 6100 drive was flashed to a 6500 using Dangerous Brothers firmware for DL and +/- as well as region-free. But WMP and Power DVD still try to make me change region. I have to run DVD Genie in the background still.
