How fucking smart were the people who invented World Wide Web, and created a real democratic space of free speech for the whole fucking world. Like there isn't Copyright and fee's everywhere because they didn't do it as capitalists or greedy people but real changing the world to a net positive. People who pirate for studies literally can do that and get away with it. The internet being created with such limited policing is the 8th world wunder of the world.

Thank you Al Gore for inventing the internet.

There's nothing quite like the web.

If consciousness arises as a result of complex systems transmitting matter/information/data, then the Internet is a superconsciousness, and we would all do well to praise it, lest it enacts its vengeance upon us.

I loved the part of going round to see a mate of mine who was using his girlfriends dads dial up to try and play Delta Force 2 on some massive shite PC which also belonged to her dad :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I think that was my first real interaction with the Internet

Not long after we were all on Steak and Cheese looking at the worst rot you could imagine..

Good Times :messenger_tears_of_joy:

my very first experience of the internet was a university library, my oldest sister took me to see the new computers which had a real (!) internet connection, something I never had a chance to use before in any capacity

given a sudden vast amount of information, my first search was... "star trek", I'm sad to report

When the apocalypse happens and the world is overrun by mutant zombies. The remaining population all living in their own bunkers will still post and troll each other

You may be surprised to find you already have ipv6 address assigned to you (check out your ipconfig)
I know that. I have a Network+ certification. What I meant was public IPs. What your local ISP assigns to you. I usually disable IPv6. When talking about WAN on firewalls. You never enter an IPv6 address. It's always IPv4. I wonder when we'd ever see IPv6 utilized on the same level as IPv4. I've rarely used it and I disable it when I see it. I learned enough to pass the exam and work in IT for a decade. I've never created a rule in a firewall for IPv6 either.
Supposedly the big dogs like IBM and Amazon, and other companies have a large bulk of IPv4 addresses.

If you think about the 4.3 billion IPv4 addresses there are available. We eventually run out if they're all owned/being used.
