POLARIUM DEMO AVAILABLE FOR PASSME USERS

That's right, its starting to smell of running commercial material using a PassMe, while we wait for the NeoFlash to arrive.

Last night a demo of the commercial game Polarium was released, initially for WifiMe users (wireless version of passme), but later a few guys managed to make a PassME version of it.

I'll be more interested if they ever are able to completely skip having a gba flash cart and just send things to the DS directly.

that's probably a cost issue more than anything... they dont wanna spend the extra loot developing a tiny form cart that costs more to manufacture than the relatively huge gba cart...

something doesn't sound right... wifime is supposed to be the same thing as passme, except it's wireless. Things that work for passme should work for wifime, and I assume vice-versa. If this is true, an emulator version shouldn't be too far away.

This isn't anything new, really; Tim from GBAdev downloaded and served the SM64 multiplay program a while ago. I just hope someone manages to capture and share the Meteos demo before the end of June...

Tried this out :) (Even though I own Polarium, heh.)

It doesn't boot from the GBA slot -- it loads wirelessly, like any other multiboot program. Seven or eight of the demo puzzles are exclusive to the demo. I'll copy them and post them in the puzzle thread. The first five spell out "Polarium DS" and the sixth is a gamepad.

It's great to have actual communication between my PC and the DS. Hopefully Tim's work will lead to a tunnelling solution soon.

Custom downloadable apps seem unlikely, as there's a 128-bit encrypted component when the download is being verified. It must not check all the code -- I think the WiFiMe is a hacked version of the Mario 64 multiboot program -- so I'm hoping a workaround is possible.
