It's time again for "Games that need sequels"

Carrier Command - a game of the future relesed like 20 yrs ago. It has to be remade.

Damocles - it's like GTA, but in the space, a whole solar system to explore planet by planet.

System Shock 2 - on Half-life 2 engine, that is.

Ranger X 2 or Burning Rangers 2 - Both were awesome and would do well with overhauls (especially Burning Rangers). Plus they might find an audience next time around.

Plus Ducktales 3 since the first one is so damn good and we haven't had a really good Disney platfromer in forever.

Actually, there was a Strider 2 for the PSone. It wasn't too bad.

I went through and played Ducktales through the other day... man that game had some great tunes. I love the Transylvania song. Capcom's Disney games were the best - Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, DuckTales... well the Magic Kingdom game was kinda weak :P

Blaster Master - done right with beautiful high re 2d graphics

Cryastalis - dont care how it is meade it is just needed

Tribes 1 - all i want is a great tribes game that dosnt suck and is like the original

The Transylvania tune is indeed awesome, but the Moon theme rules all.

I can remember the music to practically all of these games... Capcom truly was the king of NES music. Rescue Rangers was probably my favorite of them all...

That being said, I think Castle of Illusion & Quackshot on the Genesis are the peak of Disney gaming.

Shadowrun
System Shock
Final Fantasy 4 ( Cover your ears kiddies, you might get scared ... *gasp* in 3D)

Bonus games.

Zelda OO, MM and Wind Waker in 2d.
Metroid Prime, Echoes in 2d.

Dude. You are *so* right it hurts. Add System Shock 2, an English Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy 3/6, Super Street Fighter 2 X (in glorious Hi-Res and all characters from all Capcom Fighters ever) to that list and it's perfect.

Mechwarrior 5
Vagrant Story 2
a new Shadowrun game

and many more (like Valkyrie Profile 2, FFT2 (a real successor) a new Freespace...omg way too many)

With better graphics for all those graphic whores out there and maybe in the Star Wars Universe.

bey_screen001.jpg

Pretty please

shenmue2_screen001.jpg

even more pretty please

- Shenmue II: Because there's no other game like it, and because Sega can't leave the people who bought, played and loved the first two games without a conclusion.

- Segagaga: Maybe changing it to "Company wars" or something like it, but it's one of the rare occasions when the industry is laughing at itself, and the premise could make a good management game.

wasn't there talk of a new Colony Wars for PSP or PS3 a while ago? I swear SCEE hinted at it.

There was a PS2 Colony Wars, briefly - but the franchise is dead now, barring acts of God.

DEFENSOR IS RIGHT.

It's a damn shame that SCEA won't release SCEE's games or give them any marketing support. :/

Oh, and TToB informed me yesterday that Dropship is only $15 at Best Buy. With the gamer's gift card, that's dirt cheap for the best air combat game this gen. BUY DROPSHIP.

The obvious choices:

Shenmue 2
Metal Arms
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Not so obvious:

Freelancer, it was a great start, a sequel with a richer universe to explore (just more variety in what you can do) would be awesome

Will it happen? Doubt it, space sims are out :-/

Speed2.jpg

Speedball 2, this probably belongs in obvious, i think it's time future sports made a brutal comeback.

Will it happen? I was assured it would happen eventually, maybe if that rollerball remake hadn't sucked so hard we would already be playing it.

totala06.jpg

Total Annihilation, taught a generation of people how to spell Annihilation, best RTS ever and all it got was that shitty Kingdoms sequel Chris Taylor wasnt even involved in :'(

Will it happen? Uh Huh, thanks to EA and Gas Powered Games, Taylor will be delivering a new RTS in 2006. Though it won't be called TA2, the TA license is owned by Atari.

Speedball 2 had its spiritual successor already, at least:

This one would be equally okay as a remake or a sequel:

Id say deathrow was more a sucessor to the original speedball than speedball 2 (smaller teams) but if they made an 8-10 player per team version that'd suit me.

Battletoads. A true sequel with the same thought, care and inventiveness that went into the original rather than the countless rehashes that followed it. I played Battletoads for months. I never beat it, but I did get 3/4 of the way up the Dark Queen's tower in the last level, and that was far enough for me to feel like I had accomplished something.

The turbo tunnel in 3d would be awesome though, so they should rehash just that. :)
