I want to burn a CD mix, but I need to make sure the songs blend into eachother (no pause from track to track).

I haven't used iTunes to burn that much, but I didn't see the option to make the songs blend seamlessly to one another. Is iTunes able to do this or am I better off finding other software?

There is no gapless playback. You could experiment with the crossfade settings to see if that helps, but I think what you're looking for is a feature which isn't in iTunes yet.
