intangibles, motherfucker
ok so long story short i had to wipe my hard drive and rebuild my computer. I had no way of getting any data off my hard drives so all my music went bye-bye. Do i have to repay to d/l the songs i purchased off itunes or is there someway i can re-d/l them?

Erm, I have a question too: I play my music using the "Library" mode, with it sorted by artist. Unfortunately, for mix discs and movie soundtracks, this is utterly useless. Is there anyway to get iTunes to respect that I want to sort by artist *except* for these type of albums, or is the "Part of Compilation" checkbox worthless?

When you buy it tells you to backup the files, so you're out of luck.

After you pick an artist and it gives you all of the albums they appear on to the right of the screen, just CTRL + Click the albums you want.

I'm pretty sure that getting it to override the artist sort is a fruitless venture, but you might want to try using the Browser so that you can go by Artist OR Album pretty seamlessly.

If you had them on a player, you can get them off (there are programs to strip them off iPods) and then you just re-authorize them. If they were only on your computer, you're pretty much boned. You can try calling Apple, but I don't think there's a thing they can do for you.
