I am not anti indie, i am not anti whatever it is you think i am anti, but i give an honest effort to listen to bright eyes whenever he comes on xm radio and every time i feel like ive listened to the same song. I think the thing that bothers me is that he lacks any passion or conviction in his singing. i mean he doesnt have to be like screaming or whatever you know but i dunno, perhaps im not listening hard enough. It just doesnt seem like he believes or cares about anything he is talking about.

someone educate me here.

I'm not a big fan, but Let's Not Shit Ourselves is a great song. I don't really see where your emotionless singing complaint comes from though, IMO he emotes better than most of the singers I hear on the radio today. Maybe it'd help if you named which song you heard.

I'm not really a fan, but uhh, I'm not sure what stuff you've been listening to..

His best album is 'Letting Off the Happiness' by far. If "passion" is what you want, you can probably find it on this album.

I thought he was good at first, but after a while I "got it" and was rabidly into him. I dunno, man, "Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh" is a pretty devastating song... fuck, all of Fevers & Mirrors is awesome as shit. I dunno, I don't think he's done much that's not "good" at the very least.... but diffr'nt strokes, right?

i like bright eyes alot.... its a nice country, folkish kinda sound. If you're generally not into folk music, its hard to find yourself liking bright eyes. so that might be an explanation to your disliking of him.

also a possibility--his topic matter is from the perspective of whatever age he is. conor, coincidently, is only 3 years difference from my age. so you may not be interested in whatever he's talking about-- but i am.

so basically, its no big deal if you don't like him-- art is subjective.

objective? whatever it is. :lol
