Smells faintly of rancid stilton.
as a coach
LOS ANGELES, Cal. - Phil Jackson might be bringing back Scottie Pippen to help him rebuild the Lakers — as an assistant coach.

Jackson has already contacted his former player to see if he would be interested in joining the Lakers staff, according to a report in The Orange County Register.

Pippen was unavailable for comment, but said last season he had no interest in being an assistant coach, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

Pippen, 39, ended up being a mentor to the young Bulls players after his deteriorating physical condition kept him from playing last season.

Bulls operations chief John Paxson has said he thinks Pippen would make a terrific coach, according to The Sun-Times.

Pippen played 11 seasons for Jackson with the Bulls and teamed with Michael Jordan to win six championships.

Jackson is also expected to offer Tex Winter, the brains behind the triangle-offense, a consulting job with the Lakers. Frank Hamblen, who was interim coach for the Lakers last season after Rudy Tomjanovic quit, is also expected to join Jackson's staff.

Ahh, good it is all going according to plan.

We are slowly going to get our revenge for Jordan giving Magic HIV during the Olympics. The first part of the plan was to get Pippen to be an assistant coach for the Lakers. The next step is to make Jordan Scottie's assistant.

Three years from now you will see Jordan being Kobe's butler...

Pippen was really overshadowed by Michael Jordan in Chicago, but he seems like he'd make a good coach. I have no idea if he actually would, but it'd be interesting to see that's for sure. The Lakers seriously need to pick up some more key players for their 2006 line up, and I'm sure Pippen and Jackson would be able to scout quite well.

Well Pippen is one of the last "small" players to use the class every time he drove at an angle... players need to re-learn this damn skill!!!
