Jet Set Radio Pachinko

Just as a heads up, it seems like Sam's Club (at least my local one) is selling a Jet Set Radio Pachinko machine for ~$250. It's pretty cool...has an LCD screen that has in-game footage (not sure which version it was from) that plays as you go.

Here's a pic I found on the web:

Sorry if this is old or has been posted, but I searched and found nothing on it.

DC!!!! Quick some fool... I mean... someone might be willing to buy your slot

Mind explaining how that has any sort of pachinko aspect?

Well, Pachinko is basically slots with a twist (the slot reels spin only after the ball falls into the start opening). Pachislot is the newer variation where instead of relying on the random chance of shooting balls into the machine, you buy medals (tokens) instead and use them to start the machine. Each slot reel also has it's own individual stop button making it more strategic and less random. I think people looking to seperate Pachinko and slots are looking in the wrong place because Pachinko/Pachislot is just a Japanese varient on the western concept of jackpot/slot machines.

I knew it was only a matter of time before they'd start making more games about me... oh wait this is just a lame pachi slot game like most of sammy's efforts... :(

We have one of these machines at my house, but it's not JSR... it's like penguin pirates or something, and Konami makes it. Pretty odd concept, but a good distraction for a few minutes every once in awhile.

So there's no steel balls, pins, chance of hitting the reel or non-coin-based gambling, but rather a slot machine with with stoppable drums? That doesn't sound like pachinko to me. Whoever coined the term by combining the two words is stupid. Slots+ is much cooler.

It's NOT pachinko. They are called Pachislots because they're slot machines which are made for and located in Pachinko Palors and not casinos. I don't see why you're bitching about how it's a "stupid name" when you're neither the target audience nor do you seem to understand how the business and mechanics work.

1. Take *any* popular Japanese videogame.
2. Go to Japan.
3. Realise that there is a slot or pachinko version of every single one.
The SNK ones from the Aruse era are my favourites.

It's just you :P.
No way, it'd be perfect for PSP. Actually DC ports in general would, since they wouldn't have to be scaled back at all in terms of visuals or controls.

I actually saw a store here (LS Ayres) selling a pachislot machine during Christmas (which was odd considering I've never seen them sell import stuff before...must have gotten a surplus.) I couldn't find any justified reasons for having a slot machine, though, and it cost $500 so I passed it by
