JPN GBA Box Design vs. US GBA Box Design

I'm not talking about the box art, I'm talking about the actual shape of the boxes. Why did N intendo of America decide to go with the square box shape? I would understand if it was for marketing purposes (i.e. people recognize the GB/GBC box shape, therefore...), but the boxes are poorly designed. It's virtually impossible to keep the boxes from getting crumpled or bent, and the inner frame provide virtually no protection for the product inside.

Meanwhile, the Japanese boxes are smaller, and although they use the same cardboard, somehow the shape of the box and the well-designed inner frame lends a sturdiness to it that seems to keep the box looking pretty good. I can't really post pictures, but if someone could throw a few pics up on the board for comparison, it would help.

Yep, Japanese GBA boxes make for better artwork than U.S. boxes, they're infinitely more attractive and are sturdier.

That said, DS > GBA JP >> GBA USA.

GC cases would be perfect if they were DS case sized, and said gamecube in black and silver or something on the side, versus a purple or yellow bar at the top.

And ya, GBA boxes suck.
