NASCAR STAGES BATMAN BEGINS 400

NASCAR, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and International Speedway Corporation announced on Wednesday that Batman Begins will take center stage at Michigan International Speedway on June 19 for the running of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Batman Begins 400. The Batman Begins 400 at Michigan International Speedway will be broadcast live on Fox.

I know, 95% of this board doesn't give a sh*t about NASCAR. But I thought this part was pretty cool...

The Batmobile from the film will lead the pack of 43 cars off of pit road to start the race.

Also, Mark Martin's #6 car will be sporting a Batman paint scheme for the race.



Heh, that's pretty funny... why? Martin's main sponsor is Pfizer, makers of Viagra... and didn't someone on GAF once do a Photoshop gag with a Batman Begins poster featuring impotence as the punchline?

So who's surprised? NASCAR is the biggest advertisement-whoring "sport" there is, they just took it to another level. Looking forward to seeing the late-night news clips of the Batmobile dusting some rednecks, though.

Heh based on what they said this batmobile can do (in RL)it would be more interesting to see it actually in the race.

The leaked footage a while back did show this new batmobile to be pretty damn fast.
