According to a new report, Avalanche Studios is working on an unannounced AAA open-world game. The info comes from recent job listings, which mention building large-scale open-world systems, dynamic gameplay, and fluid traversal. This has sparked speculation that it could be a new entry in the Just Cause series, though nothing is officially confirmed yet. Avalanche hasn't released a major open-world game since RAGE 2 (2019), and with past projects like Contraband getting canceled.

Their games are like Taco Bell after a night of drinking. Just Cause 2 & 3. Rage 2. Mad Max. They're not industry-changing but they're so much fun in the moment.

Mad Max was really something. It certainly had their trademark repetitiveness but it mattered little because I WANTED to play as Max and the game delivered and the driving felt great, and the combat vicious and the visuals stunning. It looks amazing today. Also, THAT ending.
