Just curious, how many people are a Mason here

I've been asked by a mason to attend something, to see if I like it. Well, I've always believed in the Illuminati type shit. Not to mention every US president has been a Mason. Just makes you think. I know they do a lot of good, like hospitals and other good things. It's just the organization has always had a shady feeling to it, at least to me.

My grandfather is a mason. I only learned this about 2 months ago or so. Despite this, I know very little about them. Which, of course, means I really want to learn more about them.

Likewise, I have an uncle that is one. I ask him what they speak on, he says unicorns.

My Grandfather and Father were Masons, my grandmother is a daughter of uhh something. I'm not religious and don't get along with my family .. My grandfather is SR, my father is JR and i'm the III but I guess i didn't turn out well or something. Screw those cults :)

I never really noticed anything odd about my grandparents, etc. for my younger years. I don't think I would have any interest joining something like the Freemasons.

Uh, it's not really a religion. Which it seems like you're implying.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply it was a religion. As religions are a belief to me it tied into the same realm. I haven't seen most of my family for 8+ years now due to this stuff, so I kinda tie it all together. belief/following/religion/faith... whatever ;)

Once again, they don't do jack shit except do some charity work and socialize, and filled mostly with old people because they didn't have jackshit to do when they were young. Both my grandfathers are masons, and they just don't seem to fit the bill of people who control orbital mind control lasers and what not.

...or do they?

My friend wants to mail a fruitbasket to the local Mason HQ and print the Illuminati symbol on the little card that goes with it. We figure that hilarity, or our mysterious deaths, would ensue.

I bet they just eat the fruit, no one can resist mangos. No one.

"Behold a Master-Mason rare
Whose mythic Portrait does declare
The Secrets of Free Masonry.
Fair for all to read and see,
But few there are to whom they're known;
Tho' they so plainly here are Shown."

They come to you, you don't go to them. Honestly

false. if you want to be a mason, just ask a mason.
popular culture has built freemasonry in the eyes of the general public into something it isnt.

no, but there's a mason sticker on my car. it was there when i bought the car and i never bothered to remove it.

I know a couple, it's not usually something people are vocal about, but they're both very good people and very active in the community. Masons and Shriners are basically just really good people who like to help others but want to do so with a plan.

And I've found they tend to be rich oddly enough for the most part, maybe that's through connections or just through hard work.

I was asked at one time. I said no. If I'm asked again, I may reconsider. I know several older folks who are Masons and they're very decent, kind, respectable people. Just my two cents.

I thought free masonry was like an X game for brick layers?

"Oh my gawd! He just layed 180º look at that tension arch with no keystone!"

Not me. I'm too involved in the other secret society, which exists to thwart all Masonic attempts at world conquest.
