I was looking for a new show to watch and I thought what the hell, Curb looks great. I never watched or got into Seinfeld so I thought I would not understand the show. It wasn't really the case at all. By God, I don't think there was a single bad episode. There was always something I laughed at in each episode.

As for characters, the Larry David and Leon Black relationship later in the show is so god damn funny, I love every scene with both of them. It was a sack in the gut when Cheryl left Larry, she was an awesome character (probably my favorite) and it made me sad to see her go. As for Jeff and Suzie what happened to their second kid they were supposed to be having? Isn't that the reason why they didn't get a divorce in the first place and he moved back in with her?

Anyways so what are your guys & gals favorite episodes/moments?

I also need some recommendations of shows to binge watch. I don't really watch a lot of TV shows with school & work and I am finally getting into some shows. Even in the past when I was younger, I didn't have much time with sports and school. Here is what I have watched or currently watching off the top of my head.

Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
Curb Your Enthusiasm (obviously)
The Man in the High Castle
Hells Kitchen
The Office
Parks and Recreation
The Walking Dead
Better Call Saul
It's Always Sunny
Mr Robot

I don't watch anime a lot so I guess I'll watch some if it's highly recommended by a lot of you. Here is what I have seen:
Avatar the Last Airbender (if you would call it that)
Attack on Titan
Dragonball Z + Super
Naruto
Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress

Thanks for reading/replying!

Stranger Things on Netflix

Or start going down the Marvel stuff on Netflix as well, start with Daredevil.

I need to re-watch all of Curb again. Been so long.

We are rewatching Curb now, great stuff. I do think it feels less real than Seinfeld, somehow. It's like how old games trying to be less real somehow avoid the uncanny valley. Curb tries to be too real so the absurd stuff people do, like not take a crumpled bill, stand out as unbelievable.

Anyway, I recently saw all of Peep Show and have been trying to get people to watch it. Apparently they are looking to bring it here (USA) but I doubt it will be as good. It'll probably be another The Office situation.

I always recommend watching Neon Genesis Evangelion after Curb. They complement each other better than you'd think.

I am going to use this image to express my feelings, as I am getting tired for writing 500+ words about the show in threads like this and having no one listen.

All 3 seasons of Todd Margaret are on Netflix. Only 18 short episodes so perfect for a 1-2 day binge. Helps to watch all 3 together because of the callbacks in S3.

Frasier. I can't recommend it enough.

As far as anime, good ol' standby of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Also, Michiko And Hatchin is pretty good as well.

Seinfeld is a no brainer following Curb (and Curb's got a new season coming soon too)
Arrested Development as the greatest sitcom of all time even with the underwhelming season 4
Fargo the TV series is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys Breaking Bad
Psyche is a surprisingly good show that doesn't get enough love, really good cable procedural comedy
Scrubs and House (both of which you can safely skip the last 2-3 seasons of)
Edit: totally forgot Veep, oh man I need to finish catching up I'm on season 3 I think
And if you wanna venture into the Adult Swim back catalogue, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law 1000x, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Sealab 2021

For anime:
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Outlaw Star
Space Brothers
Lupin The Third
Cromartie High School (once you've got a few more animes under your belt, this one's a parody)

I would like to UNendorse the recommendation above for Person of Interest.

It's a bog-standard procedural with a terrible techy concept, completely unappealing characters, and a plot that keeps circling around the same old boring conspiracies you've seen dozens of times before in different shows. Whenever it does break that mold, it does so in the worst way possible. Terrible.

Get started with HBO's The Night Of and be happy instead!

Okay, you got me. Is this Hulu only or can I catch it on other services?

1-4 is on US Netflix. 5 should be ont he way soon.

"Bog standard procedural" is severely underselling the show. This is a critique that can only be leveled against the first 10 or so episodes. It is totally impossible to legitimately say this about anything past the midpoint of Season 1. The show has some the the best 3 episode arcs on all of TV. The show has some of the best organic build ups to finales in all of TV. I have said this in other threads but Season 2 and 3 are almost perfect seasons IMO. I thought it was impossible for shows with 22 episode seasons to do this before this show came along. There are legitimately interesting callbacks to early episodes throughout the whole run. Episodes in Season 5 legitimize some of the slow episodes in Season 1 with interesting new details.

Sure, the core conceit of the show is tech based and could be considered wacky on first look, but they build layers of mythology around it to legitimize it. By the end of season 1 the writers have legitimized everything about the initial concept and make it seem grounded. They build on the idea from there and make it core to the believability of the show as it goes forward. Instead of having the conceit be just a means to an end to provide weekly storylines it turns out to be one of the more complex and interesting part of the show.

In regards to bad characters... No. Just no. Aside from the core cast, the writers are able to make interesting characters out of things you never thought should be characters in the first place.

I personally have not seen a show in recent years that alters the whole landscape of a season with one episode. This show manages to do that regularly. There are game changing plot points in several episode each season that make you feel like you are watching a different show the next episode. They show manages to deliver plot twists well, but also justifies them with logic in following episodes so you never feel like they were used solely for shock value.

Oh no, now I wrote a bunch of words about the show again. Dammit.
