You like me, you really really like me!
Kanye West, who was recently named the hottest number one star of the year, just might try and help resurrect Michael Jackson’s' career. In an interview with Sirius Satellite Radio, Kanye was asked about a very important phone call from one King Of Pop.

- Sirius (DJ): Kanye West, who was recently named hottest number one star of the year, just might try and help resurrect Michael Jackson’s' career.

- Sirius (DJ): (To Kanye) He called and asked you to produce and album for him? What's going on with that?

- Kanye: Actually he has, I am just trying to figure out the time. It's a time thing, but I definitely want to do something. I may not have enough time to do the entire album all the way through. I am definitely gonna do some joints.

- Sirius (DJ): Joints are fine - just stay away from the Jesus Juice.

hmm..

I doubt it'll happen. He was going to do Lauryn Hill's album then he got so busy that he had to give up on it.

He's waaaaaaaaay in demand now.

yeah. first he does like 10/11 common tracks, and each were fuckin bumpin. then he does all his tracks cept the first one, and it's my favorite cd of the year.

Jesus, no! It will be another Jerky Jerkins thing! What Jackson needs to do in order to resurrect his career is to produce the album by himself.

Yeah the Rodney Jerkins tracks from the last album were pretty lame.

I think he needs to reunite with Quincy Jones and have the Neptunes contribute a few tracks.

False. Quincy or bust. Michael Jackson couldn't produce a good album if it meant he got free plastic surgery for doing so.

How? What did Jay-Z do for MJ?

Did a remix of the single on Jackson's 2001 CD and then tried to push it out on the radio hard. Except nobody wanted to hear it so it went away as soon as it came.

Don't forget the Biggie and Eve remixes!

It's not so much Jay-z trying to help as much as it's MJ latching on to anyone & everyone who's currently popular.

Jay-Z did some cheap remix and tried to push it himself. Of course nobody wanted to listen to it.

Quincy Jones is 72 years old, he won't do shit. Jackson wrote and produced some of his best work by himself. And by not trying to be "hip" and getting a "hip" producer he could become quite successful again.

That was pre insanity michael. Don't sleep on quincy, till the day he dies. But I agree he doesn't need a "hip" producer.

the problem is that Michael Jackson tries to sing about liking women and nobody buys it anymore. His career is done.

Not really. All he needs is a catchy tune. It could be about him fondling little boys and people would flock to buy it. Look at R Kelly.

molesting little boys!=having sex with underage girls. It might not be right, but there is a world of difference in the way you are percieved.

Micheal shouldnt have turned the Neptunes down - Justified >>> MJ has done in the past 15 years, including Dangerous. Im sorry but Invincible is easily one of the worst albums I have bought EVER - wouldnt use it as a coaster.

F8cky that. Who would buy any women on the face of this planet liking him the way he looks? - Actually scratch that, some of those stupid MJ drones that follow him around the world would do it.

They bought his stuff after '93. Now that he is acquitted they might give him an even bigger chance for a comeback.

what did he really do after '93? Free Willy? HIStory was considered a bomb. After that he did Blood on the Dance Floor and Invincible, which people don't even remember existed.

Yikes, that's a little harsh IMO

I really enjoyed Invincible

YRMW, Unbreakable, Break of Dawn, (great tracks imo)

Depends on what you compare it to. Compared to Thriller it was a bomb. Compared to the sales of every other artist it was a mega hit.

im sure, like Invicible, it cost an arm and a leg to produce, which is why its sales, while relatively high for your average album, were not high enough for MJ. It was the beginning of his decline. Even that year, younger, newer stars overshadowed him. I remember by the time HIStory was released, the buzz around here wasn't about Michael, it was about Biggie dropping "Big Poppa" and knocking Michael off the charts before his album even came out.

I think he could make a comeback if he got the right people to help with his music. I mean, do what Kanye West did, and have A LOT of "special appearances."

Invincible's decent, but outside of YRMW and Butterflies, it sounds like "Michael Jackson sings to pop music," not classic Michael Jackson music.

That song kicked ass. To bad the rest of the CD blows

The Lost Children. I listened to most of it once and never again. I actually like Speechless, but that one's creepy too. Weird shit like that, and then he creates a racial conspiracy to explain why the masses won't buy his album. :hit

Half-assed remix of one song by an MC != album produced by Kanye.

Michael's biggest problem is that Timberlake and Usher have already refreshed "Michael Jackson" R&B for current tastes, and they aren't creepy as fuck. He needs to find the next Kanye and be the artist to break the sound into the mainstream - at least an Ignition Remix^4. Also, he should start dating Katie Holmes.

Butterflies was actually written by the little known singer/songwriter group Floetry. It was their only contribution to the invincible album, but it was by far the best song.

Interestingly enough, I heard the original version of Butterflies sung by Floetry. The MJ version FAR exceeds it. I think sometimes Michael Jackson doesn't get enough credit. He can really bring a song to life either by his voice arrangements or his vocal ability. He can make a poor song, average and make an average song great. I really believe he would have set the music scene on fire again if he sang the songs on Timberlake's "Justified" album.

He should have dropped the Babyface produced tracks on invincible and used the Neptunes ones instead.

I'm sure Quincy Jones can put out some good music.

Yeah, Justified is much better than anything MJ has done in well over a decade. I just think some people won't own up to that because of who sang Justified.

I heard both versions too, and I agree. MJ really has a nice voice. Why did he start screeching and hissing in most of his songs after Bad? It was too repetitive and abbrasive for me to be impressed by his "anger". For a few songs it's ok, but he went way overboard.

Yeah, Justin Timberlake's voice aside, Seniorita, Rock Your Body, Like I Love You and Cry Me A River are hot songs. They would've been much bigger with MJ.

Maybe was a bit harsh, its just that he was a hero to me so long ago.. Ok, so maybe I dont use Invinsible as a coaster :lol Oh, and I dont think Ive said it on this forum - Kayne West rox.

The 6 tracks at the start of Blood On The Dancefloor >>>>>>>>>> Invincible

2000 Watts has got to be one of the worst songs he's EVER recorded.

:lol I've never thought about that before, but it's difficult to argue that. Plus Jakco was for years one of the sexiest, most wanted men ever by the ladies (he defintely had the look during the Thriller/Bad days), and now...well, look at him.

I don't know...I thought "You Rocked My World" was pretty damn catchy, but nobody gave a shit. As for R Kelly, he's still got the look that'll make the chicks swoon. Jacko's got a look that'll make chicks faint. In anguish.

Oh yeah, JT's "Cry Me A River" was a sick song...I still listen to it.

The bigger issue is why all of his recent albums have sounded the same- there is no variation in his sound.
