HOLLA!

Maybe they'll add randomly generated levels. As much as I hate them, I think they'll do well in this game if done perfectly.

And now, more Metal Gear Mayhem!

i guess we have some sort of misunderstanding here! :) i meant they better make another great soundtrack like the first one.

The quality of the sequel's soundtrack will be directly proportional to the quality of the mind-altering drugs the composer(s) take prior to working their magic.

And you can tell from the first game that they're not exactly newbies in the field of psilocybin, so what is there to worry about? :D

I think the guy responsible for the music just has a good taste. The guy responsible for the visuals, thats a whole different story ;)

That was entirely my point. :)

this has been confirmed for some time.
I don't think it was ever confirmed before. It had been reported, rumored, speculated, and assumed, but I don't think it was ever fully confirmed officially.

It was, like, 10 guys. You didn't really think any one living man could come up with every one of those tracks on his own, did you?

Actually i did. I heard lots of other stuff just from a single person. So are the 9 people pictured in the booklet all composers or what? I thought they were the artists.

yeah, nobody could take that many drugs and not turn into a vegetable. just look at ozzie if you need any proof.

I was so sure it was announced way back, like in May. I think back then it said it was going to come out as soon as November, which scared some people. If only we hadn't switched forums. :(

If they took drugs, which they did or did not, they sure didn't take them to get wasted and fry their brains like Ozzy. And it's not really such crazy music either, it's basically bossa meets some electro meets vocal jazz meets pizzicato five in a refreshing way :) I don't see the need for much drug use here.

The people pictured in the OST booklet are the guest vocalists. There are really more like 5 or 6 composers, not 10 - more than one, anyway! For the most part, the notable main tracks ("Lonely Rolling Star," "The Moon and the Prince," "Katamari Mambo," "Que Sera Sera," etc) were all by different people.

There is a little overlap, though. Yu Miyake, for example, composed the main theme, "Sakurairo no Kisetsu" (the one with the singing kids), and a couple other little tunes like "Wanda Wanda." Some of the other overlap is pretty interesting. The same composer (Yohihito Yano) did Lonely Rolling Star and Katamari Love, pretty drastically different songs, for example. Some of the others make more sense, like Akitaka Tohyama writing both "The Moon and the Prince" and "You Are Smart" and Asuka Sakai writing "Makka na Bara to Gin Tonic" and "Que Sera Sera."

I'm pretty sure that was never officially announced, though. I seem to remember that being more one of those "inside sources say" kind of things.

Really? I could've sworn... Since I usually don't give a fuck about the rumour mill and only get genuinely excited at actual confirmations.

Nobody else remembers? Bobby or Brandon maybe?

need pics now.

NOW.

Picture a sort of ball and a shitload of stuff in a highly varied palette, garnished with ample helpings of kindergarden-modern design and a "2" in the title screen logo. There you go.

I am a huge fan of the game, btw, but really, isn't that what it's going to be?

Here's what I understand: it wasn't a true announcement, but wasn't a rumor mill thing either. The KD site went down and reappeared with a short quote about KD Oni -- just generally saying it was in the works.

MagicBox had further details saying it would be coming this fall and would include an online mode. They didn't list a source, but EuroGamer said MagicBox said it was from the Nikkei paper, which is where everything starts to get a little hazy. Obviously MBox either misquoted, misunderstood or was misled on the date, so it's anyone's guess on the online claim.

There's lots they could do with the multiplayer side of things, both in terms of versus and in terms of silly mini-games. It has the potential to be a very good party game. Multiplayer seemed like a very last-minute addition to the first game, I'm sure it will be much more developed in the sequel.

Even if the sequel was just more of the same though, I'd still get it. I'm certainly not Katamari'd-out yet ...

... and new game = new soundtrack! :D
