Katamari PSP,first screens

As another poster suggested: rotate using L + R buttons

Wouldn't that take your left finger off the analog pad - you'd be limited to "stop & turn"... unless you always turn right. :P

edit - scratch that... it's too early for me to be thinking...

no dual analog.... wonder how it will translate?

How about D-Pad + the 4 buttons (acting as a second D-Pad)? It wouldn't be true analog, but it'd at least mimic the control scheme, sorta. Maybe R could be used to accelerate or something.

What's the "LAN" stuff about? This game has multiplayer?

I hope the music is as good in this as the console versions.

It was never announced.

But they probably will at some point.

We had this rumor along with Soul Calibur, Baten Kaitos and Xenogears rumors and two of those have come true... its potentially possible and I'd like to see how they use the DS in such a game.. hopefully its different enough to warrant buying both versions.

PSP version looks class enough.

I also never played the PS2 games and yet I'm looking forward to the PSP game to see what it's all about. Seems like this would be a very good type of game for a handheld. I just hope that it's under $40.

I thought Katamari Damacy was very silly at first but then the insane concept and the infectious music and the crazy visuals grew on me.

Graphically it looks fine, but I'm super scared of the control method. Just as Monkey Ball doesn't work on the GBA without 1 analogue, this won't work without two.

I think this can work perfectly with directional ball movement using analogue pad, and using R/L shoulder buttons to rotate the camera around. Can't think of any situation in the game where this wouldn't work.

Certainly, the control would have to be altered but I don't think it will be too bad. Rolling the katamari with the nub and using the face buttons to rotate and shift the prince would work out well I'd imagine. Rotating around the katamari isn't too analog control intensive.

Btw, news just came in, Katamary 3 announced!
