Kelsey Grammer's Sketch Show? The WarioWare of TV?

Did anyone else watch this last night (Sunday at 9:30)? It actually was pretty funny and made me laugh quite a bit. It's a sketch show where each sketch only typically lasts like 30 seconds or less (one or two went about a minute or so). Most of them just had one or two punchlines and that's it.. so it was like a SNL episode but with the skits being much shorter.

I called it the WarioWare of TV because of how short the skits are.. really reminded me of that game.. :lol

I missed it tonight. Did they keep the laugh track? That was, by far, the worst thing about last week's episode.

It's odd that in the span of a month or so, three shows like this popped up. Robot Chicken, The Sketch Show, and Hollow Men are all very similar in ideas(outside of one using toys and another using british men).

Yep, laugh track was there, and definitely annoying.

And I haven't seen Robot Chicken yet, although I heard it was pretty decent.. I hadn't realized it was like this though, with very short skits..

I saw about half of it tonight. Not bad. And I couldn't help but notice that Chloe (24) was looking kinda hot in a couple of scenes.

Blech. Hollow Men and Sketch Show both suck!

Robot Chicken is the only good one of the bunch, even if a little hit and miss.

But if you really want "Wario Ware TV" try and find the lost pilot of a TV show called "The TV Wheel."

I couldn't stand the laugh track. It seemed a lot more obnoxious than it does on other shows for some reason. I couldn't take it. I grabbed the tivo remote and watched Arrested Development again.

Joel Hodgson was simply ahead of his time! Or the show wasn't too great, I forget which.

Nope, Robot Chicken has that title. I just saw it for the first time tonight. It was pretty freaking hilarious. The tooth fairy sketch - classic.

Unfortunately, it just wasn't very funny. Only a few skits produced any real laughs, and when you have such a high volume of them, the few quality jokes are outshined by the vast amount of unfunny ones.

I does feature David Cross, though!

Still, it was a pretty interesting concept and they did some interesting things with forced perspective, but that's about it. :\

LOL, oh yeah, trivia: The "set" they used to anchor the TV Wheel was called the X-box. Now *that's* ahead of its time!

Aren't skits from sketch shows supposed to be 30 seconds-1 minute long? Unless you consider shit like SNL and Mad TV sketch shows.

I don't know.. are they? :)

Also note that there were some skits like <10 seconds long, as well. One line or gag and that was it.

Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised with this show. I expected it to suck badly.

Definitely under five minutes, but yeah, i always thought skits were supposed to be short too.

The Sketch Show (I saw the 2nd episode) was very average for me. Most of the skits had very obvious outcomes, and those outcomes were only mildly amusing some of the time.

I haven't seen Hollow Men yet.

Robot Chicken isn't great, but tit does remind me of WarioWare, definitely.
