This game looks amazing, not just visually but also mechanically. It's not a simple hack n slash without a soul.

Day one. Have it pre-ordered for my Pixar Computer.

Think it looks great, should be a nice game to chill out with.

Looks so good!
Sucks that it's on Epic Game Store though, no idea how to do home streaming from there. I want to play this with my kids. Is it coming to Steam as well at a later date?

I might be the only one who sees a super generic game here, like a beyond good and evil but with no mojo or interesting characters. Hope it's good but I wonder what everyone's seeing here.

Looks way too generic and missing IT. Also, the face of the character is from that lazy animation department (aka Fortnite and everyting else nowadays)

This game could save gaming for me ... I've recently put away my consoles after losing any sense of value in buying new games, but I've had this on preorder for a month or two now and i just think it's evocative aura could really allow me to have a blast with it.

I agree, feels like a generic zelda clone in some regards. Like, it has potential to be something very interesting, but i think it falls short of really hitting its mark in whatever its trying to be. It seems to struggle with a defined identity. Also, I feel like the gameplay should be faster and more well thought out than it is.

Honestly if it just went in a slightly different direction with certain aspects, had some more identity and a good story I think it would be a smash hit IP.

Impressive presentation for an Indie. Like, knowing nothing about who developed it you'd imagine it was some AAA behemoth.

I actually think it looks really generic in terms of mechanics. Pretty basic 3rd person action with a little Pikmin added in. I guess maybe that combination could be considered unique.

But it sure looks amazing visually.

I assume people calling it generic are also applying that label to 99% of all games ever made, because most games are derivative of something that came before. Most original game ideas were already used up for 2D on the NES, and for 3D on the PS1 and N64. The well of innovation has run dry. Games today just build on tried-and-true ideas, and try to incorporate multiple concepts (as Kena clearly does) together with an interesting world and story. Calling something generic speaks less of the game concept than your inability to formulate a deeper commentary on what you saw. Kinda the pot calling the kettle black, if you will.

As the previews all seem to comment on the melding of different gameplay mechanics from a variety of games, I think generic is probably the wrong word to use. Unless we can point to a vast array of games that include mechanics from Pikmin, then maybe find a better description. Pikmin is almost as niche as it gets.

100% agree. I don't know how someone could see Ratchet and think looks fun, and see this and think looks generic. Ratchet doesn't bring any new gameplay either. Pretty much all games are technically generic now. Really just depends on if you like that kind of generic.

I was a big fan of Kameo and Viva Pinata back in the day. I miss the old Rare games and this looks like something they would have made. This might give me something close to them again.

Looks generic AF, but good. I felt the same way about that Super Lucky's Tale on XB and it's honestly a great game. I'm sure this will be great as well, but it really seems to be lacking something.
At first I thought this was a videogame for that latest Disney movie, Raya, which was also painfully generic.

You're right it's similar to a Rare game, better visually but the same type of inspired-by-others game dev style I never had any issues with. I see Breath of the Wild, Pikmin, Uncharted, Soul, maybe some Wonderful 101 as well with the Rot usage in the action. It's a nice mix.
