The sequels to last year's live action Kenshin movie have been officially announced. Due to open consecutively in Japan next year starting in Summer, the two films will cover the famous Kyoto arc from the manga revolving around Kenshin's battle against Shishio. The two films are divided into "The Great Kyoto Fire" and "The Legendary Demise".

I'm glad they're splitting it into two movies this time, because the first movie's biggest weakness was the huge amount of bloat from trying to fit as much stuff as possible into one movie.

I need to get around to watch the movie...and continue my rewatching of the anime along with Gintama >.>;
Non the less hope the sequels'll be good.

I haven't kept up at all with Kenshin, but has the Sanosuke going home side story ever been animated of filmed?

I just want a re-release of the TV series (not the OVA) on Blu-Ray. I haven't seen the live-action movie yet, though now I may just be intrigued enough to give it a watch.

Nice. I thought the first movie was a lot better than I expected, though I wasn't expecting much. It did a lot of things right.

I wonder how they'll handle
Aoshi? They kind of screwed over his character in the first movie.

Man duckroll, you were right. They are going 2 parter for the Kyoto Arc.

One movie ain't enough to contain Shishio's awesomeness. Hopefully this movie can fix Sano's character.

Awesome !

The first was a very good surprise !

Just hope shishio don't get too weird on live action

...what ?

Screwed ?

He WAS there ? O.o

Wait a sec. What happened to Aoiya then? They'd have to start from scratch over Misao and company now since
Aoshi wasn't there.

The prequel OAV killed Kenshin for me.It was so incredible that going back to tv series' and manga's silliness was just painful

I'm guessing they'll completely ignore that part of the story.
