Kicking it OLD SKOOL

I just bagged me some Excellent P.C. Engine shooters via ebay, I swear games were better in them days :)

I'm so pumped I cant wait till these come in.

Anyone else thing that the days of old are better than the days of new?

On the other side of the token, try playing a game like Final Fantasy I or Breath of Fire these days and you will get some prespective on just how far the RPG genre has come over the years.

Call me stupid but I think Fallout 1/2 have been the pinnacle of RPG development.. it goes downhill before and after these two games..

Heh, Just play DQ1 (one of the shortest RPG ever) then DQ6. You do not even need to goto SNES, DQ3 has depth and DQ4 has a nice setup/story.

Bagged me Psychic Storm and Terraforming

Nice finds! Terraforming's kind of meh, aside from the visuals... the big draw back when it was released was Syd Mead's involvement. Psychic Storm makes up for it, though. The game's a little on the easy side, but a lot of fun nonetheless. Enjoy! :)

Terraforming cost more but it's for the Syd Mead connection and collectability of it

Psychic Storm rocks, I remeber when I had it originally, and it's one of the era's best shooters.

Some of the systems games go for insane amount, like a US copy of magical chase for $400 it's loony
:D

Whoa, overstatement a bit?

I recently got it for 300 yen. I'd feel ok paying up to 1000. No, 900. It's okay but hardly great. Kinda cool that it's by Alfa System, though. I'd never heard of them until Shikigami no Shiro.

Yea, Dragon Quest is the ultimate example of a once innovative game being turned into an exercise of suicidal boredom by the ravages of time.

Fallout 2 was definitely better than BG1, and though BG2 was a very good game, it got very repetitive near the end. That's why I think F2 is better than BG2, it never got repetitive or boring.. Some parts of BG2 really dragged.. That said, I have to accept Baldur's Gate 2 was a damn good game and I finished it twice. I just didn't get the orgrasms I got finishing Fallout 2.

Hmm, I'm always in the market for new PCE games... Got Gate of Thunder with my Duo and it really kicks ass, seriously I think this game can easily compete with Genesis/SNES in terms of visuals and the music blows both systems away.

I picked up R-Type Final today and it's pretty good... though I hate when you get killed and are sent back to a checkpoint :P
