Day 1: Neat! This difficulty selection music is both dynamic and ultra catchy! GAF recommends normal, I'll too be a pansy. Hmm, game wastes no time dropping me right into assignment, game +1. The gouraud-shading and minimalist approach works beautifully, surprised how much so. Control is wonky, had to reset game to switch inverted aim on from title menu, WTF Japan?! Much better...now if only I can find a way to turn off the Twin sPeaks talk.
Ok I see what's going on here. Straightforward mazes and simple logic puzzles, this is most definately a Capcom game! Can't really get a feel on the shooting nor what advantages each personality offer yet. Seems very clumsy so far. Pressing on.
HOLY CRAP! Harman Smith is total CLASS! Angel boss is easy, but damn Harman stole the show. Nice use of anime to provide exposition. Japan might be blown up? Ok, I'm now officially intrigued.
Day 2: Sweet, this Japanese household looks great, glad the settings take a dramatic shift. Still can't stand talking to that puppet helper, why isn't there a dialogue skip feature? I read faster than his inane backward talk. Decided to plunk serum upgrades into Dan because the game hasn't given me a reason to choose anyone else yet....scratch that, I needed to use the thief guy to unlock doors and jump onto the roof of this dojo. Useful personality I guess.
Hmm, girl has a scope on her gun, probably shoulda dumped points into her instead of Dan. Starting to get a better feel for the combat too. Lots of variety in the enemy types and the shooting has a quasi-lightgun approach to it. Heh, this game probably could have been RE: Survivor done well with Guncon support! Damn, gotta remember to switch inverted on before loading my game, stupid that it doesn't save that!
Heh, so when does death by mahjong hit XBLA? I'm starting to become hopelessly obsessed with this plotline, but the game needs more Harman! Also, those screams eminating from Harman's trailer shack give me the creeps. Samantha WTF?
Day 3: Man, even the anime in this game is so bloody stylish! I want more...but with Harman! Cowboy texas town also looks fabulous! I'm starting to love the other characters more too. Tossing knives with Kevin is a nice diversion, and Coyote's "You're Fucked!" is the greatest game soundbyte ever! Gush, gush, gush!
Capcom is invincible! Fuck it all, I'm finally buying PNO3 after this.
