Killer Gamecube releases for May

Hollywood

Banned
5/09 Donkey Konga 2: Hit Song Parade

this game should be a system seller the first game sold very well but many people waited for this second game to buy a GC because it has more songs and more types of music

5/23 Madagascar

this will come out with the movie, and since the movie will be as popular, if not more than movies like Shrek and Pixar movies it will sell very much many kids will buy a GC for it to play it because its cheaper and you get a free players choice game

5/31 Digimon World 4

also like the above game it will sell a lot to kids because digimon is so popular and many will want to play it on their gc system with pokemon and have a collection of pokemon and digimon games

also with e3 this month nintendo will show off the best games of any system so lots of people will buy it over the xbox and ps2 becuz of that and its 50 cheaper with a game and great system selling releases this month

I don't know if it has more songs, but pretty much they have the same amount...

either way, nobody was waiting for this one in particular, but it doesn't hurt that all these bonga releases are getting out to give more exposure to Donkey Konga, which is actually really appealing to casual gamers...

some people might buy GCN's just for the game too, but unfortunately I doubt Nintendo will give it too much exposure marketing-wise as to actually make a big difference... word of mouth will have to carry this just like Donkey Konga and Jungle Beat...

Donkey Konga 2 is mine...

*sigh*

Dang, son. The funny thing is you're not even being sarcastic.

Oh, that's right. This month is basicly the last hurrah for GBA, right? Fire Emblem and Wario Ware Twisted?

No. We get Twisted, Fire Emblem 2, RebelStar, Sigma Star, Riviera and a few others left.

Oh, Riviera is coming, I forgot. Atlus nabbed it right? If so, I'm sure it's of really nice quality.

The other two I'm a little weary on, but I'll check 'em out. Which one is the Guardian Legend clone? Guardian Legend rocksssss.

Ah yes, we also get Gunstar Heroes Advance. So...

Twisted, Fire Emblem 2, RebelStar, Sigma Star, Riviera, Gunstar Heroes Advance and a few others. A decent little list for a last hurrah, imho.

Doesn't count for me either, neither does Gunstar as I honestly couldn't get into the co-op game with a friend. Beat it once and shelved it. Pretty recently too, well, compared to it's original release. Did it like two years ago I think...?

I have a GBA backlog I can get to though. I traded in a ton of my old carts (Megaman Battle Networks, Castlevanias, ect stuff I'd never touch again), but I still wanna try out Astro Boy and AGH.

I couldn't wait for a sequel when the first one came out. If I wasn't saving for E3, it would be already payed in full.

You must hace missed the commercials for the first Konga and flood of them for Jungle Beat then.

I missed them, and apparently only 50,000 cube owners saw them as well!

Seriously, I saw not a single commercial for Jungle Beat. I saw two, I think, for Konga.

It's when I see things like these I'm glad I left my Nintendo fanboy ways behind. :lol

Says the man with a Kirby avatar! Haw haw haw!

The DKJB commercial was lame, and I only saw it twice, on Adult Swim, at like 1am in the morning. It's a guy in a mall playing bongos...the hits the right bongo, people move right. He hits the left bongo, people move left. He hits them at the same time and people jump up intothe air...he hits them both again and they drop. Cut to some gameplay and roll the logo. The end. Never once does it make any mention that it's a platformer that you control with the bongos, or show anyone actually playing the game with the bongs.

Really, really crappy. Way to go Nintendo, way to go Reggie. :(

over here in UK. We just got StarFox

Seen around NILCH in adverts ANYWHERE!

We also have Yoshi Touch and Go this week.

So far. No one knows its coming.....!

No more GBA games are going to be made? I only have three games as it is! Oh well... hopefully this will mean a price drop on the existing GBA games and I can pad out my library. :D

No offense, but I could not want any of those titles any less. The fact that those are somehow "killer" for Gamecube fans is kind of scary tho.

Jesus guys, I think he's joking. At least, I hope he's joking.

Anyhow, May pretty much sucks all around, so save your jeers. Xbox gets Forza, Gamecube gets Konga 2, and PS2 gets Atelier Iris. That's it for games worth talking about. The portables have better releases than the consoles this month.

I forgot about Enthusia. Though a quick look at gamerankings suggests it may not matter.

No Star Wars Ep III game for Gamecube or PSP? That's dumb.

Doesn't PS2 have that strange graffiti/paint game?

Graffiti Kingdom? It's due this month but I don't see it on the release list at EB for some reason. The PS2 also has Enthusia, Metal Slug 4&5 and Haunting Ground.

Musashi Wins! said:
wow, GC support is horrid. Worse now than I imagined.
Yeah... it's on par with PSP evidently. :P

Seriosuly though, GC is definietly slowing. Xbox gets the benefit of effortless PC ports and MS is always pushing hard for enhanced PS2 ports. I'm a little surprised Nintendo didn't lobby for the EpIII game too considering their ties to LucasArts, you'd think that'd be an easy 100k on GameCube.

Don't know about Metal Slug 5, but 4 is just bad. As for Haunting Ground, uh, my excuse is that stupidly changing the name from Demento caused me to miss it. :P Should be good, even if it is just Clock Tower 4 with boobies. I enjoyed Clock Tower 3, anyway.
