Congratulations on Snake Eater, it's already a big hit across the globe both with critics and fans. How does the positive reaction make you feel?

Hideo Kojima: I'm really happy with everything. In the United States I think because Halo 2 and GTA: San Andreas came out at the same time the title hasn't done as well as expected, it's still done moderately well, but it's been doing really well in Japan and Europe so we're very relieved. Maybe I won't even sell the next game in the United States.

Snake Eater is $20 in every store in my area. It's insane. EB had it for $20 back in March, and then in the beginning of April, even Wal-Mart had it for $20.

Everyone I know (aside from this forum) hates this game . Hopefully next time he'll make the intro less movie like and more engaging gameplay wise, because a lot of people get turned off right at the start. One guy I know thought it was one of the worst games he's ever played

MGS3 was a horrible case of putting its shittiest and most horrible parts forward first. I hated the first 3 hours myself but I wanted to see why everyone called it 2004 GOTY.

I just finished it today and yeah its final few hours of gameplay are fantastic, apparentlyit took me 17 hours to get through the game, I'd say the first 5 were even worse then MGS2 at its worst(and I hated that game) becuase not only is the story awful at the start but the gameplay quircks and lack of radar make it a really trying experience to get the hang of things. I'd say the next 8 hours or so of gaming were good, about as good as the first game, but the conclusion sequence was really well done, edge of my seat sort of stuff. It has rekindled my interest in the series I can say that much, so to anyone out there with misgiving s force your way through the boring crap and if you still don't like the game after beating The Pain then give up, that's far enough to get past the borign crap.

I paid full retail for MGS3 and man, like RE4... money well spent. The start with that switch around which is odd in itself is worth it.
