Kojima is still crying. MGS3 = $19.99 @ ebgames.com

Tempting, but I'll wait for Subsistence. :-X

What sucks even more is that MGS3:S will likely sell even worse than MGS3.

I really hope Kojima was kidding with that "I may not even release MGS4 in America" comment from a while back.

Is Substinance going to have a radar? I'll still buy it for the extra games included, but I'm still not sire about MGS3....

well it has the same "radar" from regular MGS3 Snake Eater...but no conventional radar like MGS1/2

but it does have a new 3rd person view that's similiar to Splinter Cell

Sweet. As is, it's about as playable as Dino Crisis 3.

i would have bit, but the demo did nothing for me thanks mostly in part to the primitive camera angle. I'll definately wait for Subsistence. Welcome to 21st century game design, Hideo Kojima.

So what was up with the poor sales? Too hardcore? Or the crazy ending in MGS2 made others shy away from the series?

For me, the limited camera angles made it barely playable. The whole new camera in Subsistence may change the way I see this game.

Seems you're not the only one. I hate when conventional wisdom on a game changes so rapidly. So does MGS3 suck or not?

Well if the camera angle is the same one used as the first and second game it sounds like MGS 3 needs to get a serious gameplay update. I enjoyed MGS 1 on PS1 and purchased Substance for Xbox and I'll at least rent MGS 3 if it ever hits Xbox, but I'm really not expecting that much. The people have spoken in the States, word of mouth on this game couldn't have been that great because it certainly hasn't hit sales targets and won't match the sales of MGS 2 in the USA.

I said it once, and I'll say it again.............MGS 2 had too many cutscenes and talking and not enough action. Gamers want to play games, not watch them for 10, 20, or 30 minutes at a pop. Hardcore gamers don't have a clue what casuals really enjoy unless they game with casuals.

One of my casual gamer buddies came over and I had him watch me play Substance for a little bit on Xbox and I gave him my copy as a gift. He started the game, played it for a few hours and hasn't picked it up since (6 months later......) and he still hasn't picked it up since. MGS 2 left a bad taste in peoples mouths because it just wasn't a fun game for most people

Man, I had never played an MGS game before Snake Eater. Now that I have just finished I have to say this rates as perhaps the top game experience ever on the PS2. Graphics, storyline, gameplay, everything was amazing in Snake Eater, especially the storyline...this game singlehandedly bitchslaps every Spinter Cell game in existance, if not every PS2 game in existance. One of the top 5 games of this generation IMHO.

I love MGS3. I beat it back when it came out, and I started it up a few days ago again, just to mess around with the Patriot, and Snake Camoflauge, and stuff like that. It's real good stuff.

The biggest addition to MGS3 substance is a new camera. I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff as well.

Fuck the new camera, it's all about that Xray vision that allows you to see through Eva's clothes! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!11one..

Is Subsistence PS2 only? I would love to play it on the PC with a Splinter Cell-like camera.

Seems to be PS2 only. Kojima's already shot down the possiblity of a Xbox version because he doesn't want to slow down the development of MGS4 too much.

Aww.. such a waste on good multiplayer. :)

I read somewhere that it was going to include mg1 and mg2 (the original ones), is there any truth to this?

Yep they'll be in there. Along with the movie theatre, boss battle, online, and according to 1up, those little funny movies Konami's been releasing on their site for the game.
