Kojima is still crying. MGS3 = $19.99 @ ebgames.com

Kojima knows all too well that he is my master and I will do as told... Metal Gear Solid playstation amazing, MGS 2... I thought was grously overrated, started off great on the ship, then once that annoying Raiden came along I wanted to shoot myself. (although no greater feeling then running him over bird crap, and then slipping to your doom off the building.. yes.. die Raiden Die....). And MGS 3 I just thought was amazing, I loved the story, gameplay, and I thought one of the top games graphic wise on the PS2

Is Substinance going to have a radar? I'll still buy it for the extra games included, but I'm still not sire about MGS3....

MGS3 DOES have a radar, exceot it is in Sonar form. Why does everyone complain about this?

i dont think the radar complaint will be valid after subsistance comes out since the complaint arised from having a fixed overhead camera that limited what you can see (with some degree of camera shifting with the right analog stick). now with the new 3rd person camera view, you won't be running into guards that you couldn't see because of the overhead view

Can somebody direct me to this $19.99 price? Cause I'm not seeing it.

MGS3 is the best Metal Gear Solid. Imo. Those complaining about wanting gameplay will feel right at home because MGS3 has a significant lack (for a very long time) of story and cutscenes throughout the game (except at the beginning and the absolutely amazing ending).

Use fucking motion detector you wusses. And thermal goggles.

Many people didn't understand the style and focus of MGS3. This one is really more stealthy than the previous ones and i suppose it killed it for the casual gamers.
The camera is really well done and fit with the style and the design of the game. Its made like this to give more tension and force you to use your items/gadgets and truly experience the game. It's extremely well executed, the only downside i have with the game is that grabbing from behind may be a little too hard sometimes and some cut-scenes are hollywood-cheesy.

Buy this game god damnit!!

As it was mentioned: Sonar.

After the first hour I didn't use any form of radar (cept for boss battles). Made the game a lot more enjoyable IMO.

...which is why they're re-releasing the game this fall with added content, a freely-rotating camera and billing it as THE Complete Metal Gear Solid 3.

Not really. Sure, it was harder to stay concealed in MGS3 than it was in previous MGS games, but unlike the previous installments, you were free to go all gung-ho into battle. After killing enough enemies in an area, they would eventually stop coming. It also seemed as though you could take a lot more damage before you'd go down.

So, is "Substinance" some sort of inside joke or just a bastardization of substance and sustinance?

Subsistence refers to survival, or rather surving on the bare minimum of what is required.

I love how GAF just tries to push on as fact that MGS3 bombed. Sure it might not have done as well as hoped but you act as if it sold under 100,000 copies. If MGS3 bombed how many other games in the past year have bombed my god...

Yeah, that's what I thought, when I saw this thread.
900.000 copies sold is bomba.....?

So, will the player be able to choose the camera in mgs3:subsistence, overhead camera and 3rd person view? Or will there only be 3rd person view?

You'll be able to choose in realtime, you can switch from the 3rd person camera to the overhead view on the fly, depending on the situation.

MGS is big in Europe!

Another question, when in 3rd person view, will u be able to turn the camera with the right analog stick? Like ie. Socom, GTA:SA?

thx!

Yeah I know what subsistence is. I guess people are having a hard time with that word then.
