So this is an interesting one - a Polish TV series (only 4 1-hour episodes) about a gay man playing drag queen that emigrated to Paris decades ago, and is coming back to his mining hometown when his granddaughter asks to give a kidney to her mother.
At first I was like: WTF, that can't be right, then I watched it. It's really nice, some aspects of Polish small town life are exaggerated, but not by much (I guess places like that are found in every country). The main actor is very well known:
and is actually mimicking his real life situation - also emigrated to Paris and settled there (also was hired by La Comédie Française so he is the real deal).
Give it a watch if you want something a little bit out of the ordinary.
