I saw Kraftwerk in concert last night at the Greek Theater (up in the Hollywood hill's of Los Angeles) and it was spectacular. Not only is the music in surround sound, but they also have this big screen behind them projecting these art house/computer image's and movie's that go with the theme's of their songs...a truely multi-media experience.

Just like James Brown is considered the Godfather of Soul/Funk, Kraftwerk are definitely the Godfather's of Electronica/Techno.

If you are into Electronica, Techno, Industrial or even Hip Hop and Kraftwerk comes to your city, you owe it to yourself to check out the four men from Germany...trust me, you won't be dissappointed.

what are you guys talking about the pic i posted showes some dummies on a stage

hey what the fuck was that?

the image on gaf showed the dummies from kraftwerk and now when i pressed the link that the guy under me quoted it shows some discusting stuff..i edit it!

Kraftwerk live = amazing. I can't wait for the live DVD to come out.

Has this been confirmed? There are so many bad bootleg's around, it's about time they released an official DVD.

Kraftwerk - Minimum Maximum is due for release this month, I think. It's a 2 CD set of live performances, and I'd imagine it would end up as DVD-Audio at least.

I saw Kraftwerk in 1989. To this day it's still the best concert I've ever seen. Florian's Jimi Hendrix tribute is possibly the greatest piece of understated showmanship I've ever experienced.

It's mentioned on the official site (along with a multichannel SACD that's on the way) but I guess they're either still working on it (likely since they're remastering the whole back catalogue as well at the moment), or might be recording shows on their current tour so that they get "the perfect gig".

I'm pretty sure that they recorded the Royal Festival Hall show that I was at in London last year (there were a couple of large cameras covering the gig, I hope they managed to capture footage of the middle aged folk down the front dancing; hilarious since it's a posh all seater venue :)), and it's the same setlist this year, so I guess we'll have to see. The DVD should be pretty incredible in 5.1 tho, if they do a proper mix of it (and I'm pretty sure they will).

i saw kraftwerk for a bit at coachella and i just recently saw them at the 930 club in dc.

one of the best shows i've ever been too. i love rocking my autobahn tshirt.

I missed them this past Saturday in Chicago. Would have loved to go, but the prices were too high and I didn't have enough money. I have hated myself for every second since.

You guys + all the great reviews of that show are not helping.

*sigh*

Yeah MadFuzzy, i went to their web site (coolest official band/group/artist web site ever btw) prior to reading your post and saw it listed. Looks like their going to try and make this the biggest be all, end all concert DVD ever...the CD is suppose to drop today (6/7).

Your not kidding about the middle aged folk. At the LA show i swear they made up about 1/3 of the whole audience which is funny as hell to me because these people looked like the last thing they would be at is a Kraftwerk concert.

After the concert i was standing in front of the vendor/merchandise stand where they had just sold out of all the various Kraftwerk T-Shirt's for sale and these two OLD ladies looked like they were about to burst into tears (like i'm sure they did back when the Beatles FIRST came to the U.S.) because they couldn't get a shirt. I couldn't help but visualize these two middle aged ladies telling their son (or grandson) playing some Kraftwerk to "Turn that damn noise down".

I wanted to buy a Kraftwerk program, but they didn't have any for sale, just T-Shirt's...guess i'll buy one from their website.
