LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles has been granted an ABA expansion franchise that will begin play in November.

A final decision on a playing site for the Stars will be made within 10 days, Carl Harris, co-owner with Bruce Johnson, said Tuesday. The team is considering Loyola Marymount, UCLA or Cal State Los Angeles.

Harris declined to reveal the cost of the franchise, but said his company BIGInterActive Group, LLC, would invest more than $1 million.

Sounds like it would just be easier to convert the Clippers, since they're basically an ABA squad already.

i remember the older version of the Stars when the ABA became the "ABA 2000". They had Ed and Charles O'Bannon, and Toby Bailey on the team. UCLA REVIVAL!

heh, thats crazy. What is the MLS expanding for though? Haven't they seen what unneccesary expansion has done to the NHL?

i have no idea.. from what i understand most of the clubs are losing money at a pretty good rate, and they just decided to dilute the fan base of their most popular club (la)
