Sales data for the week ending Nov 5th:

1. Civilization IV (2K Games)
2. Age of Empires III (Microsoft)
3. Star Wars Battlefront II (CD) (LucasArts)
4. Call of Duty 2 (Activision)
5. City of Villians (NCsoft)
6. Star Wars Battlefront II (DVD) (LucasArts)
7. The Sims 2 Nightlife (Electronic Arts)
8. The Sims 2 (Electronic Arts)
9. World of Warcraft (Blizzard)
10. Civilization IV Special Edition (2K Games)

Not really into the whole sales thing, but it's nice to see Civ IV (my personal GOTY) doing well.

Terrible.

Yeah but it would likely be the same deal with consoles if "expansion packs" were released on a regular basis for the top selling games. The only thing really similar to that has been the Halo 2 map pack, and people who could wait knew they'd be able to get it for free via download.

Has the Movies been released in the US yet? If so, I would have expected it to at least make the top 10. In a just world Fear would also have been there, though that's balanced out by Quake 4 also missing out.

In 2004, only 4 titles out of the top 100 console games for the year were Original Properties (non-licensed, non-sequel games).

This is what most people buy, not what is available.
