I noticed that as I played last night because I wanted to go back after a wonder seed. I looked up and said I don't have to hurry.

Y'all, ya need to play this! I am MIND blown by this game. This is the best Mario game since Galaxy and hell maybe the best since 3.

I don't mind it, but it's something that may be annoying to others or during level replays, so it's good that the option is there.
