ok. so here's what needs to be known.

- maximum resolution. most i can get for my money.
- 20 inch range
- Mac compatible
- A/V input so that i can hook up consoles to it
- budget is $1,000 or so. interested in everything though. anything over $2,000 is out of the question though.

but yeah, basically, i want an LCD TV that i can use as a monitor.

The standard rule of LCDs apply: Anything lower than the native resolution is going to take a pretty obvious hit to the image quality. You've been warned.

I'm looking for close to the same thing.

- At least 19"
- TV Tuner, RCA/S-Video/Component
- Widescreen
- Built-in speakers and input for sound

However the main factors for not buying one

- Ghosting: even a little bit bothers me
- Inconsistent colour spread and problems displaying rich blacks.
- Fixed native resolution. I hate the blurriness if I'm trying to use another input with a different rez. Most native resolutions are either too high or too low.

I wonder if they'll ever fix those three problems.

The widescreen Dell looks pretty good but I think there's still a long way to go. I'll probably end up waiting another year or two.

If you want the best bargain, then Dell's got everyone beat.

20.1" Widescreen (1680x1050)

20.1" 4:3 (1600x1200)

Both are $561 at Dell right now.
