“I just received news from Legendary that we are officially moving forward with Dune: Part Two,” Villeneuve said in a statement. “It was a dream of mine to adapt Frank Herbert’s Dune and I have the fans, the cast, and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros. to thank for supporting this dream. This is only the beginning.”
Greenlight the whole thing WB! Do it!
Herbert wrote six Dune books. The story doesn't end here. What whole thing? Part Two completes the first book.

I hope we do. I think that would be badass to see. Or really weird.Yea but it kind of gets worse as the books go along. I doubt we're going to ever see Sandworm Leto II on the big screen.

I want big-budget movies personally. Maybe you can help me out here. Was the entire Harry Potter series greenlit from the beginning or did they wait for box office on the first one? I know all of lotor was made together. If this is "the lord of the rings" of scifi you would think they'd jump on this and get the machine going.I think they should do Paul's story as movies and leave Leto II for HBO Max.

Nah, you meant to say it gets better. Although having read all the books multiple times I do not think Heretics and Chapterhouse can be filmed to give them justice.Yea but it kind of gets worse as the books go along. I doubt we're going to ever see Sandworm Leto II on the big screen.
I honestly didn‘t think this sequel was ever in question but I‘m still glad we got the confirmation. Nice publicity stunt though.

I didn’t miss anything. I just think that if a sequel was ever in question the movie would not have started as Dune part 1.You obviously missed all the concern trolling claiming the box office wasn't good enough for a sequel.

I'm really curious how they'll handle Alia in the sequel. The character will be difficult to pull off by a child actress
THE SLEEPER HAS AWOKEN!!!
Yeah but the other books are kind of dumb. AnywayHerbert wrote six Dune books. The story doesn't end here.
Just came out the cinema watching it.
OMFG IT WAS SO EPIC. IT LIKE WAS STAR WARS MEETS GAME OF THRONES.
(But seriously like 5 people walked out. Normies don't like it.)
I was trolling. Both of which came out after Dune.
It's a classic SCI-FI book for a reason. It inspired countless rip-off and other derivative works.
