Legendary Pictures Announces DUNE PART TWO!

Sweet, going to see part 1 tonight, glad that I won't be left with an eternal cliffhanger.

Herbert wrote six Dune books. The story doesn't end here.
I think the best place to end it though would be.........[see spoiler] It was foreshadowed in the movie.

with Paul on the throne sticking it to the emperor. Especially after they killed his son(the part I hated in the book)

Great. It would be really terrible if a movie with "Part One" in the title and ending on a cliffhanger underperformed and didn't get a sequel.

I would like to implore users NOT to throw insults at the books, especially the second half of the series (God Emperor is one of the most unique stories out there), as they are some of the finest sci fi novels ever written.

Thank you.

Best news all week! So glad we are getting part 2. Would love to see them tackle Dune Messiah if everything works out as well. But I'm so glad we are getting this.

😂

Yeah, this doesn't hit properly until the second book but afterwards you are like wtf. Even in the first book the fact that Bene Gesserit literally seeded the savior myth in the Fremen to one day be exploited when needed, can't wait for some Roman Catholics to praise this movie 😅

I hope there is an extended director's cut for both movies. I would eat that shit up.

My understanding is that Villeneuve always gets final cut. I could be wrong but I don't think there will be an extended directors cut. There might be an extended non directors cut.

I watched p1 a few days ago.. i enjoy how faithful it is to the books...

i thought the 90s film staring special agent dale cooper was really good, funnily enough, i thought it was a pretty good feverdream of the book

i thought it was fun to see the janitor from scrubs being a badass, slightly immersion breaking but in a nice'ish way

i appreciate how cavalier DV was with flash forwards

There's no way in our current idiotic climate that the rest of Dune gets made accurately.
