Yeah, this doesn't hit properly until the second book but afterwards you are like wtf. Even in the first book the fact that Bene Gesserit literally seeded the savior myth in the Fremen to one day be exploited when needed, can't wait for some Roman Catholics to praise this movie

My understanding is that Villeneuve always gets final cut. I could be wrong but I don't think there will be an extended directors cut. There might be an extended non directors cut.

I watched p1 a few days ago.. i enjoy how faithful it is to the books...
i thought the 90s film staring special agent dale cooper was really good, funnily enough, i thought it was a pretty good feverdream of the book
i thought it was fun to see the janitor from scrubs being a badass, slightly immersion breaking but in a nice'ish way
i appreciate how cavalier DV was with flash forwards

You know, Legendary Pictures should give that glowing eye CG technology over to HBO so House of the Dragon makes the Targaryens have purple eyes. It'd help with the believeabilty thing.

Directors cuts are usually for when the studio forced stuff to be cht out for some reason. DV usually gets it right first time.
