Lego announces its biggest and most detailed Space Shuttle set yet

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle launch, Lego is releasing a new Space Shuttle Discovery set in collaboration with NASA. Discovery was not the first shuttle to take flight — that would be Columbia, which likely stirs up too many sad feelings for a Lego set — but it was the shuttle that launched the Hubble Space Telescope, which is also included in the set.

Looks beautiful.

I posted this in my Lego community thread, but nobody seemed to care.

Even though I still have a Apollo Moon lander still unbuilt in a sealed box I will be buying this instantly.

Huh. I have the last big set (i forget the code, but it had boosters) so I'm curious how much larger this one is. $200 isn't too bad, I'm in.

I need the mars robots rereleased as a pentology (?) set.

Lifelong, but casual fan here.

Legos start to lose their appeal to me once they hit the high price points. At that point, I rather go for a different type of model or statue. With Lego's I'm more into the smaller sets, I can complete in an evening. Still, I can see the appeal of slowly working on a Lego model. It does sound fun.
