LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - Reveal Trailer

Looks different from the usual TT Lego games.
It looks like a LEGO Batman Arkham from the gameplay style of it but incorporating story beats from the Dark Knight trilogy as well as The Batman.

GOTY 2026, we are so back, Batman once again saving videogames, I will die for Warner Bros, etc...

Wild that a LEGO game is what brings back Arkham gameplay, lmao. Of the reveals that were shown, this is definitely one I was not expecting to be interested in.

This Lego team making a better batman than than WB Montreal

Did he know???

All the Lego games have co-op , but this is Batman/Wayne's story. It kinda makes it seem it will be singleplayer only, I hope not because I love having a brand new Lego game to play with my nephews.

I don't really care about Batman sadly, but after the Skywalker Saga and this, I hope we'll get a Lego Middle Earth some day with all 6 movies, and maybe a Lego Jurassic Park with all movies as well.

I don't think TT still has the licence for these ones unfortunately... :messenger_pensive:

I've always been a sucker for Lego games. I have no idea why.
I'm glad a new game is coming out, even though I wish they'd explore more new themes.
Lego Walking Dead, Lego Game of Thrones, Lego Dune are a few things I'd love.
I'm just afraid it doesn't fit the target audience ^^

Having an open-world style city is probably the bigger issue. The other lego games could keep everything in one frame. Unless Robin just automatically follows Batman like Tails or a Mario bubble you need split-screen, but this isn't very fun for P2 while Batman has a lot of mobility options like grappling hooks. The story though is probably nigh meaningless for the feature.

There's definitely a chance it's singleplayer only then, damn.

I found it so funny when dude from TT Games was yapping about them "innovativing combat" during Gamescom showcase and I was like "bruh, you just copied combat from Arkham games"
Lol yeah, just own up to it dude. No one's going to be mad if you say your new combat system is inspired by the Batman Arkham games, one of the best melee systems ever devised.

Some random gameplay here. Looks awesome, but do the people that go to these events even play games? It's so painful watching this person play :messenger_grinning_sweat:

That's lego arkham, looks great

Thanks to Hogwarts Legacy selling like crazy and still selling, i suspected Harry Potter would have been the next big Lego game, which...ehhh, never cared that much about Harry Potter, but i like Batman a lot more so this is great for me.

Embracer is the one who owns the rights to Lord Of The Rings these days, Jurassic Park i don't really know but the next big console game, Jurassic Park:Survival, is being made by Saber Interactive who had the recent hit of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2...so i doubt Warner Bros has those rights too.

As mentioned, they have the rights for Harry Potter and DC Comics, otherwise, there is also Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Gremlins, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Hanna Barbera and Game Of Thrones among others.

They could genuinely make a Lego Cartoon Network game if they wanted, a world where 2 players could play as Scooby-Doo and Courage The Cowardly Dog could be a reality but that will never happen.

Finally a Lego game that isn't aimed at the Duplo age range. The IPs they use kinda ask for at least a bit more complex gameplay. If the dev is good, a very forgiving, hints heavy easy mode can still make it enjoyable for very young kids, while not kinda boring for any teen, grown up and parent.
