I'd prefer Capcom not make another fighter again. Farm their IPs out Arc Systems or someone who still cares about putting a decent effort into fighting games.

Ain't this kind of an oxymoron, considering ASW has been doing what Capcom did when SF got big (namely, release the same game four times with an extra character or two and slight damage tweaks to the old guys?)

Anakaris was the big Mummy dude right? DS's answer to Zangief...with coffins.

My fave was Babel (Albuth?) the Merman. Boy was he as cheap as cheese in the original DS release. Sonic Stun and corkscrew move combo made me an arcade legend...until they fixed it for Night Warriors.

That's still a lot more effort than was put into CFJ/E. I have no problem with fine-tuning the fighting engine to perfection through re-releases and upgrades, but the production values in CFJ seem so freakin low (everything looks static and dithered), and there's like nothing new about the game at all.

Fighting fans are doing just fine playing old-but-good games over again (it took like 2 years or so for Third Strike to rise in popularity, Vampire Savior came out in '98 but only recently has the game been taken sort of seriously in the comp scene, IIX and Hyper SF2 still get serious playtime, etc.), so it's not like there was any real need or demand for a new series, aside from Capcom looking for a cheap cash run.

Come up with something NEW or don't even bother, is that too much to ask?


EDIT: I can't wait for the moron that steps in this thread and tries to defend CFJ's condition.

I just pray that if we do get the rumored new Darkstalkers game Capcom returns Sasquatch to his massive sprite glory. He seemed a lot smaller in the third game.

I still remember the mirth with Gamefan....where Nick Rox and Co. were bleating like little sheep that the 'superior' PSX only got Psygnosis coded Darkstalkers while the Saturn got perfect internal Capcom Night Warriors. :lol

Actually i'd liken Anakaris more to Dhalsim then 'geifers.
