Lemnis Gate

Anyone looking for an aleternative to the copy pasta FPS formula should definitely give Lemnis Gate a stab. It's pretty damn brilliant on now on PC Gamepass as well — all I'm going to say is Time Manipulation son:

I'm actually really excited for this one, and I've pretty much given up on multiplayer games, let alone FPS ones for years now. It's a really interesting concept they've went with and I'm curious to see if it works out that well in practice. Too bad for them that it probably won't sell well regardless. I don't see innovative games really take off like that in the MP FPS space.

Everytime I read the title of this game:

I don't like FPS games but I'm intrigued by the game description, and get to try it out on GP.

Downloaded already.

The concept sounds pretty interesting.
The problem with all these lesser known multiplayer games is that if it doesn't make it big you don't know how long there will be people around to play with.

I will have to try it, I must admit I don't understand how it works from watching the trailer.
From what I've gathered it's basically a turn-based FPS multiplayer. You have 25 seconds to make your move, after that you get frozen until everybody else makes their own. I can't remember how the time loop plays a part though.

That kind of sounds amazing since I'm not very good at FPS games. Well dang, that's crazy. Going to have to put a little time into this.

……but If they kill you in one loop, but you kill them in the next, then the guy they killed originally is still alive! 🤯

Im into the concept. Very original. Looks pretty good for a budget game graphically. Like the characters.

Just can't do it without gyro aiming. Fighting with the controls too much on simple fine tuning in my aiming.

If you play FPS games though this seems interesting.

This game messes with my brain. So far I'm finding the mode where players play their moves at the same time rather than the one where you have to answer to your opponent's move - just better pacing. But I can see liking the other more playing more, as it offers for more advanced tactics.

Lemnis Gate is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One!

Lemnis Gate is the revolutionary turn-based combat strategy FPS taking place in a time loop. Harness the abilities of powerful operatives and compete in mind-bending 4D battles as you disrupt the past to change the future.

Played about 2 hours.

This might be really good. Controls take a bit to get used to but it's fun figuring out the counter to your opponents moves. Will definitely check out more of it. Much more fun than the first 2 hours of Splitgate.

I do think the art direction is pretty bleh. The whole idea would have been served better with a more simplistic, cleaner look. Feels kinda 2008 aesthetically.

Camera controls are terrible, weird mix of acceleration and mouse-like drift. Uninstalled it after spending more time in the controller settings menu than actually playing the tutorial stage.
