Let's appreciate our favorite roller coasters!

I'm not a roller coater aficianado or anything but I freaking love the things. The rush, the wind blowing through your hair, people screaming all around you, everything.

One of my recent faves is Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain:

And, mainly for the nostalgia, is Dragon Coaster at Playland. I must have ridden this one a hundred times. Looks like they've renovated it:

Let's share, lambs! I know there's all kinds of crazy roller coasters all over the world.

Magnum-XL at Cedar Point, not the biggest drop anymore but there's insane airtime in the tunnels. The wait is also a lot shorter than it used to be.

Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure... 2 great suspended coasters. Probably the best ride queue ever as well.

My favorite is Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure:

That first drop is awesome.
Oh God, my girlfriend took me on that over the summer. I did not feel safe at all. The little bar to hold me down felt loose and I was scared shitless throughout the ride. Of course she laughed at me the whole time.

Mine would be El Toro at Great Adventure:

Millenium Force at Cedar Point. Finally got to ride in the front car this summer and it was amazing.

I have a soft spot for the Magnum too. It's best after a little rain when the tracks are slicked down. Makes the ride go 10-20 MPH faster. As you said, it's all about the small hills going through the tunnels on the 2nd leg of the ride. Good stuff.

That is the best part. Most coasters now-a-days seem to be going with the over the shoulder harness. Nitro only has the lap bar which makes you feel the drops a lot more.

They tore down Astroworld. :(

The Medusa in Jersey(great adventure park?) was freaking awesome though.

Goliath (I think there's a lot of coasters with that name :P) at Walibi World in La Hollande (formerly a six flags, coincidentally)

I admit my experience with roller coasters is rather limited, but this one does it for me all the time.

Tokyo Disney Sea has some cool rides. I've never been to US one so I don't know if they're the same. Journey to the Centre of The Earth was my favourite here. Very cool but too short like most rides.

Space Mountain at DisneyLand was freaking awesome. Adding to the awesomeness was the hundreds of Japanese schoolgirls screaming at the top of their lungs.

Nitro and El Toro were already mentioned. I'll go with both of those. I hadn't been on a decent roller coaster since I was like 11, and then 10 years later I went on Nitro. I almost shit my pants.

This, islands of adventure had the best scenery of any park I've ever been to, the Rollercoaster Tycoon fan in me was really impressed.

I got to go on this twice in a row once. When I say in a row, I mean I didn't get off the car.

Unparalleled.

Expedition GeForce, Holidaypark (Germany)

It may not be the tallest, longest, fastest or steepest... but it's definitely one of the best in the world.

The first drop alone is insane and worth a visit. The rest of the ride is speed, airtime, more speed and more airtime. And closer to the trees than any other ride. In fact, the ride was designed around the trees.

No roller coaster thread can be complete without it.

Does not look like much until you get on, then you shit yourself because you know it is about to collapse.

Do not forget to load up on Nathans.
