For my room, i am planning to purchase and set up one of the HTiBs. Rather than buying seperate components, and mixing matching, buying a pre-set system seems more logical for my medium sized room.
I am particularly interested in the Yamaha YHT-450 system. I was wondering what other stuff GAFFERS might own, and/or looking at?
I am sure a few of us are interested in this stuff with the next gen right at the corner.
Again, let's keep the $10,000 high end stuff out of this discussion, please. :P

If you're using it in your room, and you have a computer in there, Logitech Z5500s are a pretty sound investment...

only problem then is having a monitor that doubles as a TV screen... probably one of those HD TV screens :P

I'd be interested to hear whats good these days. I still have my good old Sony STR-DB840. DTS+DD5.1 is pretty much all I need, along with my mission speakers and paradigm sub.

I've never really bothered with 7 channel stuff, or vertical separation. Maybe when bluray hits, and I can afford a 1080p front projector, I'll look at upgrading, but I think I'm happy so far.

Has HT tech come on so far as to improve the sound, or is it mostly in space saving (My current receiver is pretty big)
